John and Tony reached out to us with a heartfelt request—to convert their garage into an ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) so that Tony’s mom could move in and be closer to the family, especially her grandchildren. They wanted a functional yet comfortable space where she could feel at home while still being connected to loved ones.
We immediately got to work, designing an open-concept layout that maximized the 400-square-foot space without compromising on comfort or practicality. One of the challenges we tackled was relocating the furnace, which we moved to the attic, and the main house washer/dryer to optimize the floor plan. Despite the compact size, we successfully created a fully equipped home that met all of Tony’s mom’s needs.
The ADU includes every essential feature of a full-sized home—a complete kitchen, a stylish bathroom, an in-unit laundry area, a spacious closet, a cozy dining and sleeping area, and a welcoming living space. Every detail was carefully planned to ensure both functionality and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
When we finally presented the completed unit to Tony’s mom, her joy and gratitude made the entire experience incredibly rewarding. Helping her transition into her new home was a deeply emotional moment for all of us, reminding us why we love what we do. Creating a space that brings families together is more than just construction—it’s about building meaningful connections and making dreams come true.
